Lesson 11, 12 and 13 - English kids - level 5 - Merlo - Prof. Mariana

Hi everyone, how are you?
Tell me the news over whats app, in English! I’d love to hear from you.

Well, let’s move on.
Let’s finish Unit 1 from the book: “The food here is great!”
On page 10 from your Student book, you’ll see (once again) the adverbs of frequency which it is used to express how often we do something as well to distinguish Present Simple from Present Continuous.

Present simple:
We use the present simple to talk about:
something that is true in the present:
- I'm nineteen years old.
- I'm a student.
- He lives in London.

something that happens regularly in the present:
- play football every weekend.

something that is always true:
- The human body contains 206 bones.
- Light travels at almost 300,000 kilometres per second.

- sometimes go to the cinema.
- She never plays football.

Present continuous:
The present continuous is made from the present tense of the verb be and the –ing form of a verb:
- I am working.

We use the present continuous to talk about:
activities at the moment of speaking:
-I'm just leaving work. I'll be home in an hour.
- Please be quiet. The children are sleeping.

We often use words such as: now, right now, at the moment, today, in an hour with Present Continuous:
- We are eating lunch right now.

Well, check the table on page 10 exercise 1. Attention that adverbs of frequency go before the verb and after the verb to be.
Now, listen and repeat:

Now, do exercises 2, 3 and 4 from your book page 10.

Conitnuing you can do activities 1, 2, 3 and 4 from page 11.

And more, activitiy 1 from page 12 - record the answer and send it to me.
Then continue doing activity 2, 3 and 4.

To finsih on page 13 do activities 1, 2, 3.

Now, as a homework, you have Activity Book pages 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (exercise 2 only).
It’s quite a lot to have lots of fun. Enjoy it.

See you soon,
Bye bye.
